Terms and Conditions (For Tutor)

a. By enrolling as a tutor with Tuition2u, you hereby consent to the collection, utilization, and disclosure of your personal data by Tuition2u in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012. The data will be utilized for the following purposes:

• Receiving available tuition assignments via various telecommunication channels, including but not limited to WhatsApp, SMS, Telegram, and Email.
• Provision of your information to the respective client upon confirmation of a tuition lesson.
• Receipt of tutor-related marketing messages through email or messaging platforms, including but not limited to WhatsApp, SMS, Telegram, and Email.

b. Should you choose to withdraw your consent for data collection at any point, kindly notify us via email at info@hometuition.com.sg.

By registering as a tutor with Tuition2u or accepting a tuition assignment, you acknowledge and accept the following terms and conditions related to the provided tuition matching service. Formal engagement occurs upon the dispatch of a Confirmation Note via WhatsApp/SMS/Email or after conducting the initial tuition lesson as arranged with the client.

Tutors registering with Tuition2u must be at least 16 years old and possess a GCE “O” Levels certificate or an equivalent academic qualification.

Tutors are obligated to provide accurate information regarding academic certifications and personal details. Clients retain the right to request verification of these certifications at any given time. Tutors found attempting to deceive clients with counterfeit qualifications will be reported to the authorities.

Tutors are expected to maintain professional and ethical conduct. Failure to adhere to these standards may result in the immediate termination of ongoing and future assignments. General guidelines for tuition lessons include:

• Providing a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for any change in timing. In cases of sudden illness, an MC may be requested from the parent.
• Ensuring punctuality and adhering to agreed-upon timing for tuition lessons.
• Prohibiting any form of physical or verbal abuse towards students or parents.
• Regularly communicating with parents regarding the student’s progress.

• Unless otherwise specified, tutors are required to commit to an assignment for a minimum of 3 months.

• In cases where commitment cannot be fulfilled due to special circumstances, tutors are obliged to inform Tuition2u to prevent any misunderstandings and avoid blacklisting for future assignments.

• After the first conducted lesson, tutors are expected to coordinate directly with the client for subsequent lessons, clarifying any personal, payment, or cancellation terms after the initial session.

• Upon successful confirmation of each tuition assignment, a confirmation note and invoice will be issued.

• Clients are required to make the payment for the first two weeks’ fees to Tuition2u upon completing the initial two weeks of lessons.

• Subsequent payments may be made directly to the tutor.

• In cases where the client is unwilling or unable to transfer the 50% commission to Tuition2u, the tutor will be entrusted to collect and promptly transfer the commission to Tuition2u.

Commission Structure

• Tuition2u implements a one-time commission structure for the initial two weeks of lessons, collected directly from the client.
• Additional tuition services introduced during the first month incur additional commission charges.

Short-Term Assignments

• Assignments lasting 11 weeks or less are Short-Term Assignments.
• Standard commission is set at 25% of Total Lesson Fees, capped based on total lessons conducted.
  • Tier 1: Total 16 Lessons & Less -> Capped at 2 Lessons Commission
  • Tier 2: Total 17 to 24 Lessons -> Capped at 3 Lessons Commission
  • Tier 3: Total 25 Lessons & More -> Capped at 4 Lessons Commission
• Tutors should consider commission deduction when quoting rates.
• Tuition2u explicitly states Short-Term Assignments; others are Long-Term Assignments decided solely by Tuition2u.

Long-Term Assignments

• Terminated Long-Term Assignments (e.g., unsuitability, location, personal reasons) are not Short-Term Assignments.
• Tuition2u generally collects short-term commission based on the original client request.
• Refunds or top-ups due to lesson changes are processed after completion.
• In discontinuation, Tuition2u collects 25% of total lesson fees (subject to tier caps), and the tutor receives 75%.
• Tutor cancellation without a valid reason may result in billing for 25% of intended total lesson fees.
• Decisions by Tuition2u are final and case-specific.

Tutor Cancellation

• Clients can change tutors at any time.
• If canceled within the first 4 weeks, Tuition2u collects 50% of tuition rates; the remaining 50% goes to the tutor.
• Tutors may not be entitled to fees in cases such as assignment cancellation, failure to meet standards, providing false information, or inability to provide supporting documents.
• Tuition2u makes final decisions, considering all parties’ interests.

Tuition Rates

• Agreed-upon rates should not change after confirmation.
• Tutors may increase rates after student advancement.

Length of Commitment, Postponement, and Cancellations

• Lessons, once confirmed, should continue for at least 4 weeks.
• Postponement requires 2 days’ notice; sudden sickness may require an MC.
• Tutors can reschedule with mutual agreement.
• Last-minute cancellations within 2 hours incur 50% fees.
• Subsequent lesson cancellations follow tutor’s policies.

Location of Lessons

• Lessons conducted at the assigned address in the assignment.

Collusion & Fraud

• Attempts to evade commission are illegal.
• Tuition2u does not tolerate fraudulent actions, filing police reports and initiating civil actions for recovery.

Tuition2u reserves the right to amend Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
