2. Acknowledgment of Conditions: Your access and use of the tuition service are conditional upon your understanding and acceptance of these Terms. All users, visitors, and individuals accessing the Tuition2u website must adhere to these Terms.
3. User Confirmation: By accessing the site as a visitor, viewer, or registered member, you confirm that you are at least eighteen (18) years old. Users aged thirteen (13) to eighteen (18) affirm having parental permission to agree to these Terms and use tuition services.
1. Introduction to Services: Through our Services, we facilitate connections between students (or their parents) and tutors for various arrangements, including private tuition, group sessions, online tutoring, and homework help.
2. User Categories: a. Users: All visitors, registered or not, are users. b. Members: Users registering or requesting a tutor become members.
3. Ownership of Services: Users and members acknowledge that Tuition2u’s Services are exclusive property. Tuition2u may introduce, modify, renew, or cease Services at its discretion. This agreement applies to all Services, and users accept that Tuition2u holds no liability for such changes.
4. Termination of Services: Users understand that Tuition2u can cancel or cease offering any Services. Non-acceptance of updated terms requires immediate cessation of Service usage.
5. Services “AS IS”: Users, including clients and tutors, agree that the Services are provided “AS IS.” Tuition2u assumes no responsibility for issues such as timeliness, missed lessons, incorrect actions, communication, or personalization settings.
1. Eligibility for Membership: To become a “member” on the Website, individuals must be in good standing and not have been previously prohibited from receiving Tuition2u services.
2. Registration Information: Upon registration, users provide information like name, birth date, gender, race, occupation, and personal interests, respecting client preferences. This process complies with the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, Article 12.
3. Accuracy and Updates: Users commit to providing accurate, valid, complete, and current information during registration. Timely updates are required for accuracy, completeness, truth, and currency. Failure may result in access termination, with Tuition2u disclaiming responsibility for service failures due to inaccurate or incomplete data.
4. Use of Registration Information: Tuition2u reserves the right to use registration information for intended purposes, such as publicizing a tutor’s profile. Personal details like name, password, telephone number, etc., remain private. Refer to the privacy policy for a comprehensive understanding.
5. Account Security: Upon account creation, users are the sole authorized account users, responsible for password/login confidentiality and all account activities. Users are accountable for actions or omissions by others accessing their member profile. Immediate notification of unauthorized access is advised, and Tuition2u is not liable for losses resulting from non-compliance with terms of use.
1. Currency and Obligations: All monetary references are in Singapore dollars (SGD). Users must settle any levies, duties, or taxes imposed by taxing authorities on payments or fees collected through Tuition2u services.
2. Tuition Rates and Invoicing: Tuition rates on the website are guidelines, subject to variations based on client specifications, market conditions, and tutor availability. Tutors set rates, confirmed through an official Tuition2u invoice. Invoices must be settled within three days, with bank receipts retained as evidence.
3. Outstanding Payments: Outstanding amounts prompt reminders via calls and SMS. After 14 days, reminder letters are sent, and legal representatives may be involved for recovery. Debtors cover all associated costs.
4. Commission and Rate Alterations: Agreed-upon tuition rates can’t be altered without mutual agreement. Tuition2u claims commission based on the agreed rate. Commissions may alter due to non-fulfillment of tutor obligations.
5. Fee Collection and Refunds: Tuition fees are collected directly by Tuition2u or occasionally by the tutor. Clients paying tutors directly are liable to Tuition2u for the commission if not collected from the tutor. Tuition2u reserves the right to alter commissions. Refunds may be issued for violations or other reasons.
6. Dispute Resolution: In payment disputes, Tuition2u assists but is not legally responsible. Clients inform the agency and tutor of cancellations, with late cancellations incurring fees. Disputes between tutors and clients are managed independently.
a. Replacement and Cancellation:
The client retains the right to request a replacement tutor or cancel the tuition arrangement at any time after the first lesson. However, the client is obligated to pay the attended tuition fees to Tuition2u.
b. Tutoring Period Commitment:
The tutoring period is explicitly stated during the assignment arrangement. If unspecified, all parties are expected to commit for a minimum duration of three months.
c. Lesson Commitment and Cancellation Fees:
An implicit agreement entails completing a minimum of one lesson upon tutor confirmation. For client-initiated cancellations after one or more lessons, only the conducted lessons will incur charges, and Tuition2u will refund any remaining fees paid in advance. However, cancellations before the first lesson incurs administrative fees, equivalent to no less than the first lesson fees, payable by the specified due date on the invoice.
d. Postponement and Cancellation Procedures:
Clients must inform the agency and the tutor (if contact information is available) of any lesson postponement or cancellation. If the tutor is notified less than two hours before the scheduled lesson, clients are responsible for compensating the tutor for lost time and transport costs, equivalent to 50% of one lesson. Payment must be made in cash on the tutor’s next visit or via bank transfer if no subsequent visit is scheduled. Tuition2u’s commission remains unaffected by cancellations or postponements.
e. Tuition Schedule Adherence:
The agreed-upon tuition schedule, along with the date and time of the first lesson, must be adhered to. Clients can renegotiate the schedule with tutors. Changes in lesson frequency within the initial four weeks must be communicated to Tuition2u, and adjustments to commission may occur under such conditions.
Professional Conduct Guidelines:
